Who you'd be working with
I've sat on both sides of this conversation.
For three decades I wrote software and led technical teams inside companies — and I was usually the one asked to explain, in normal language, why something was hard, how long it would take and what it would really cost. I got good at that part. It turns out it matters more than the code.
These days I also run a small food business of my own. Orders close on a Wednesday, I cook on a Thursday, customers collect on a Friday. So when you tell me the admin is eating your week, I'm not being polite — I'm doing the same juggling you are, with my own money on the line. That's the difference between someone who sells you software and someone who has to live with it.
HatziTech is me. Small, local, and deliberately so: I take on a few clients at a time so the person who quotes your job is the person who builds it and the person who answers when you phone.
Architectural practice · Cape Town
A rebuild, not a re-paint
- Where they were
- A website built in a long-abandoned page builder. The contact page was leaking raw code onto the screen, the enquiry form used a CAPTCHA nobody could read, and on a phone it was unusable — with fifteen years of project photography trapped inside it.
- What I did
- A plain-English audit first, so the owner could see exactly what was broken and choose what mattered. Then a rebuild on a platform he can maintain, with the portfolio restructured so new projects take minutes to add.
- Where they are now
- He can send a client to his own website without apologising for it — and change it himself without phoning a developer.

Clipboards, retired
- Where they were
- New patients filled in details on paper at reception, and a staff member retyped every field into the practice-management system. Slow, error-prone, and a waiting room full of clipboards.
- What I did
- Built a secure online intake form on the practice's existing website, shaped around the fields their software actually needs, so the information arrives once and arrives right.
- Where they are now
- Patients arrive already checked in, reception stops retyping, and sensitive information stays in one controlled place instead of on paper.
My own product · my-kitchen.co.za
my-kitchen — built, launched and run by me
- Why it exists
- Home bakers and small kitchens run their businesses out of WhatsApp threads and notebooks. Orders get missed, stock is guessed at, and most owners have no idea what an order actually costs them to make.
- What it does
- Handles customer orders, recipes and costing, stock and day-to-day business admin, with online card payments built in. Designed, built, hosted and supported by me — the whole thing.
- Why it's on this page
- It's the one piece of my work you can click on and judge for yourself, and it uses every skill your job would: design, build, payments, hosting, security and support. It's live and in beta with its first users.
- Try it free
- There's a free recipe costing calculator on it that anyone can use, no sign-up: my-kitchen.co.za/costing
